Director of Operations

Position Summary

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Campus, including staff oversight, marketing, building maintenance and resident services. Assures compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, and Harvest Home policies and procedures. Responsible for ensuring the Campus meets Harvest Home financial objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Adheres to and conveys the philosophy of supporting the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residents.

  • Ensures Harvest Home operates in accordance with all applicable regulations and campus- specific policies and procedures.

  • Performs and/or oversees the selection, supervision, discipline, and termination (if needed) of staff, including appropriate documentation in personnel files.

  • Ensures a clear definition of lines of responsibility, equitable workloads and adequate supervision.

  • Performs or coordinates the orientation and training of staff, including regular staff in- services, in consultation with the Campus Administrative Manager as needed.

  • Works with the Community relations Coordinator regarding all marketing and public relations activities to ensure a favorable public image of Harvest Home is maintained and occupancy projections are reached.

  • Ensures that facility records are maintained in an accurate manner and in accordance with policies and procedures and regulatory requirements, including resident, personnel and administrative records.

  • Provides the Executive Director with routine reports and other requested information as needed.

  • Ensures the campus building and grounds are maintained in a clean, attractive and safe condition and all needed preventative maintenance is performed in a timely manner.

  • Oversees the planning and implementation of a holistic social and recreational program that addresses the social, spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the tenants.

  • Ensures appropriate utilization of community resources, including the provision of transportation, as needed/appropriate.

  • Investigates and responds to any concerns or complaints expressed by residents, families, and/or staff.

  • Reports all unusual incidents and changes in condition to the State certification agency as required by regulation; reports any suspected resident abuse to the Ombudsman, adult protective services, the State certification agency, and the resident’s responsible party.

  • Is available on an on-call basis to provide consultation to staff as needed; arranges for appropriate coverage when unavailable.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and ability to ensure Harvest Home conforms to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations and campus-specific policies and procedures.

  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours to meet the requirements of the job and to be on-call.

  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision, yet to respond well to direction and guidance.

  • Knowledge of the requirements for providing care and supervision appropriate for elderly tenants.

  • Good character and a continuing reputation of personal integrity.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Must be at least 21 years of age. 

  • At least one year experience working with the elderly or in a home-health setting required.
